Yes, Dear is a shared task and reminder app for two people. This policy explains what information the app uses, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
When you use Yes, Dear, we collect information needed to provide the app, including:
- your email address and display name;
- an internal account identifier and your couple-space membership;
- content you choose to add, such as task titles, notes, resource links, due dates and times, completion status, and gentle-nudge messages;
- push-notification tokens and device platform information needed to deliver notifications; and
- timestamps and other basic records needed to keep shared data synchronized.
How we use information
We use this information only to operate Yes, Dear: authenticate your account, pair two people, synchronize shared tasks, deliver notifications, support the app, maintain security, and troubleshoot service problems.
Sharing and service providers
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use your information for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking.
We use service providers to operate Yes, Dear, including infrastructure for database hosting, backend hosting, sign-in email delivery, build and notification delivery services. These providers may process information on our behalf only as needed to provide their services and under their own applicable terms and privacy practices.
Data retention and account deletion
Your active account data is retained while your Yes, Dear account exists. You can permanently delete your account from the Profile screen in the app.
When you delete your account, Yes, Dear deletes your account record, push tokens, sign-in-code records, nudges involving you, and tasks that you created or that were assigned to you. If you are paired, the other person keeps their account and self-owned tasks that do not involve you. Service providers may retain limited technical logs or backups for their normal security, reliability, or legal-retention periods.
Your choices
- You can turn notifications off or on in iOS Settings.
- You can sign out of a device without deleting your account.
- You can delete your account in the app at any time from Profile.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect account information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Children
Yes, Dear is not directed to children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We will update the effective date on this page when we make material changes.
